Not every home needs an animal, but every animal needs a home!
We have been working for animal welfare on the island for over 30 years. We rescue homeless dogs and cats and find them loving new homes where they can feel at home.
As a non-profit organization, we work with donations and the help of volunteers.
We and the animals are very grateful for your donations!
Our tasks, challenges and successes
We run an animal shelter in Musterstadt and are confronted with new tasks every day.
Caring for the animals, some of which come to us in poor condition, constantly presents us with new challenges.
In the end, however, we can look back with satisfaction on many successful placements in which grateful animals have arrived in their new families.
Animal welfare and the work at the animal shelter are very exciting and satisfying tasks, both for the active helpers on site and for the passive members who support our work with donations.
The animals thank us for it!
Some of our animals

Paul
Paul has been living at the shelter for a year and is looking for a new home as soon as possible. He needs an experienced dog owner who will work intensively with him. Then he will be a very happy and affectionate new family dog.

Karl
Karl is a playful fellow who gets on well with other dogs and cats. He would certainly feel at home in a family with children.

Susi
Susi is one of many cats at the shelter. Apart from her, there are many other cats with very different looks (black, black and white, Siamese, yellow, gray, etc.). There is sure to be one that you like.
What our visitors say

Today we visited the animal shelter.
We were warmly welcomed and given a tour.
Each animal has its own story and it was nice to see that they are being well looked after.
All the dogs and cats seemed happy and healthy. That we were really pleased about.
We can only imagine how much effort and work the shelter staff put into caring for these animals every day.
Sabine Musterfrau

I regularly volunteer at the shelter and it is a wonderful experience to help the animals find a new home.
The atmosphere at the shelter is so positive and respectful. It feels like one big family and it's so much fun to help the animals and the people.
HALEY STUNT

The shelter not only helped me find the perfect cat, but also advised my family on how to prepare for the new cat.
The advice was detailed, understandable and very warm. Our cat already feels at home with us and we are over the moon!”
Mary Jones

I recently adopted a dog from the shelter and I am more than happy with my decision!
The staff were incredibly helpful and you can tell how much love and attention is given to the animals there.
My dog settled in quickly and we have already had some great adventures together.
Thanks to the whole team!”

Why you should only adopt animals from the shelter!
Instead of buying animals from a breeder who wants to make money from them, there are many advantages to adopting an animal from an animal shelter. There are so many animals in shelters that can be rehomed that it is completely unnecessary to breed more. Here are some of the advantages:
Advantage no. 1
Take responsibility:
By taking in an animal from a shelter, you are taking responsibility and helping to reduce overcrowding in animal shelters.
You are therefore making a valuable contribution to breaking the cycle of animals in need.
Advantage no. 2
Health and socialization:
Many animals at the shelter are already socialized and have received basic training.
They are also often vaccinated, neutered and receive medical care before they are placed.
This means that you get a healthy animal that has been well looked after for the first part of its life.
Advantage no. 3
No breeders, no mass production:
By adopting an animal from a shelter, you are supporting the fight against mass breeding and the profiteering of breeders who often keep animals in poor conditions.
Adopt instead of buying animals from commercial farms to reduce the abuses.
Advantage no. 1
Gratitude and bonding:
Animal welfare animals are often particularly grateful and form strong bonds with their new owners.
This close bond is one of the most rewarding parts of adoption for many people.
